"ADNOC" and"A.I.Q" They successfully complete the pilot phase of the solution "Artificial intelligence for future energy"

ABU DHABI, 16 JANUARY / WAM / ADNOC and AIQ announced today the success of the pilot phase of the “Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy – ENERGYai” solution, which is the first solution based on “artificial intelligence agent” systems of its kind in the world. For the energy sector, it combines the “Big Language Model” technology that includes 70 billion variables, ADNOC’s knowledge and experience spanning more than 50 years, and more than a petabyte of data it possesses, which contributes to Improving and raising the efficiency of the company’s operational processes.

The pilot phase, which lasted for 90 days, confirmed that the “Artificial Intelligence Agents” systems for the “Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy” solution, which includes artificial intelligence “agents” trained to accomplish specific tasks within the value chain, can achieve significant improvements in the accuracy and progress of operations. Exploration, development and production by implementing rapid, accurate and detailed geophysical analysis, and leveraging relevant actionable insights to support production optimization in existing ADNOC wells.

The “Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy” solution succeeded in presenting its outputs in natural language and in an automated form, which allowed engineers to interact with it easily and effectively.

The experimental phase achieved promising realistic results, including a 70% improvement in key aspects of geophysical analysis, significant improvements in advanced reservoir monitoring operations, and the detection of unusual cases.

Musabih Al Kaabi, CEO of ADNOC’s Exploration, Development and Production Department, expressed his pride in the successful completion of the pilot phase of the ‘Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy’ solution, which gave promising results that confirmed that this innovative solution constitutes a basic foundation for creating and enhancing value and sustainable energy production.

He added that based on this important achievement, the “Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy” solution will benefit from analyzing more than a petabyte of data, with the aim of empowering ADNOC’s human cadres, ensuring that ADNOC’s business keeps pace with the future, and enhancing its plans to become the energy company that benefits most from artificial intelligence in the world. .

Al Kaabi added that the pilot phase also showed promising results in improving data quality, as it greatly supported the reliability and ease of use of operational data by detecting errors, unifying specifications and standards, and enhancing data sets.

For his part, Magzan Kenesby, Acting CEO of AIQ, said that this important achievement was achieved through close coordination between ADNOC’s specialized experts, the expertise of more than 100 specialists, and the establishment of a strong and secure infrastructure for artificial intelligence, and these factors constitute The basic pillars for achieving greater achievements in the coming stages.

Based on the success of the pilot phase of the “Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy” solution, the first operational version of the solution that is scalable and widely applicable is expected to be completed during the first half of 2025.

This release will include five fully-functional subsurface AI “agents” that will be deployed on a pilot basis across a number of exploration, development and production assets, with plans to expand the solution to thousands of additional wells.
