ABU DHABI, 16 JANUARY / WAM / Masdar City, the Abu Dhabi-based center of sustainability and innovation, announced the establishment of the new global headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” within the innovative development project “The Link”, with an area of ​​30,000 square metres, which includes the first A zero energy co-working building in the area, designed for living and working with advanced technological infrastructure.

The official announcement of this step came after the signing of an agreement between Masdar City and The Link project, during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the global platform that focuses on confronting the most pressing global challenges in the field of sustainability.

This historic agreement enhances the ongoing synergy between the two sides, and consolidates Masdar City’s position as a leading destination for sustainable business and innovation.

“The Link” is a major embodiment of Masdar City’s green footprint in the field of sustainable urban development, as its components comply with comprehensive sustainability standards.

Scheduled for completion in 2025, the mixed-use project consists of five commercial and residential buildings, including the first zero-energy co-working and living building in the MENA region.

Mahmoud Al Hosani, Executive Director of Finance and Support Services at Masdar City, said that choosing Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” to establish its new headquarters in “The Link” confirms the added value that Masdar City provides to companies seeking to work in a sustainable and innovative environment.

He added that this step comes as part of the joint commitment to support the process of sustainable development in the UAE and the whole world.

For his part, Tariq Al-Qabali, Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services at Masdar Company, said that the construction of the global headquarters of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” in “The Link” constitutes an important milestone in the company’s journey, and by moving to this project Speaking of zero energy, the company affirms its commitment to innovation and sustainability, while also setting a standard for harmony between its vision and the values ​​embodied by Masdar City.

“The Link” is designed to be a central connection point linking various means of transportation and all areas of Masdar City, as it provides a unique community that includes a group of offices, residential areas, and co-working spaces, in addition to a visitor center and a multi-use hall.

The project aims to create a vibrant and diverse environment that meets the needs of all population groups and enhances community cohesion. The project includes innovative design features to reduce its environmental footprint, and is being built in accordance with the platinum classification standards of the “LEED” system, “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design,” and the gold classification according to the “LEED” system. “WELL” for measuring the quality of health within buildings, the “Four Pearls” classification for the pearl rating system for buildings affiliated with the “Estidama” program, and the silver classification for the “LEED SmartPark” system.
