Khalifa University partners with SunGro to address climate change and promote diversification of energy sources

Khalifa University of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with SunGrow Middle East, a company specialized in manufacturing renewable energy equipment, to develop research and innovations for the region that focus on addressing climate change, enhancing the diversity of energy sources, and supporting economic sustainability.

The agreement coincided with Khalifa University’s review of eight projects at the 2025 edition of the World Future Energy Summit, which was signed by the President of Khalifa University, Professor Ibrahim Al-Hajri, and the Vice President of SunGrow PV and Storage BG in the Middle East, Thomson Demo.

SunGrow is a company specialized in manufacturing solar inverters and battery energy storage systems, and has a distinguished position locally and is a well-established brand in the UAE market.

Al-Hajri said that cooperation with SunGro reflects Khalifa University’s keenness to keep pace with the goals of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, and paves the way for producing effective innovations in the field of renewable energy.

For his part, Dimo ​​said that cooperation with Khalifa University reflects great importance for SunGrow, which seeks to contribute to the clean energy transition and enhance support for energy networks in this region.

Earlier, a delegation from SunGro visited the laboratories and research facilities of the Advanced Energy Center at Khalifa University, where it expressed its interest in cooperating in some ongoing research projects.
