1,133 artists, architects, and visual critics compete for the Farouk Hosni Arts Awards 2025

The Farouk Hosni Foundation for Culture and Arts announced the sixth session of the Arts Awards 2025, where 2,141 artistic and architectural works and critical research will be presented for this session in five branches (photography – architecture – sculpture – fine art criticism – photography).

 

The Foundation stated – in a statement, today, Monday – that the number of participants in this session is 1,133 artists, architects and visual critics from All over the Republic, where the value of the arts prizes reaches one million pounds, in addition to the Grand Merit Prize.

 

The Board of Trustees and the artist Farouk Hosni thanked the members of the jury for their effective participation and outstanding effort. To achieve the success of the goal pursued by the Foundation, we wish all participants every success and more creativity and excellence.

 

1,041 works of art, with 518 total, are presented for the Photography Award. One contestant, and the total value of the prize is 150,000 Egyptian pounds. The first prize includes 75,000 Egyptian pounds and a shield of honor, the second prize 50,000 Egyptian pounds, and the third prize 25,000 Egyptian pounds.

 

As for the Architecture Award, 39 architectural projects were submitted. 77 contestants, the total value of the prize is 150,000 Egyptian pounds, the first prize includes 75,000 Egyptian pounds and a shield of honor, the second prize is 50,000 Egyptian pounds, and the third prize 25 thousand Egyptian pounds.

 

The Sculpture Award presents 315 works of art by 236 contestants, and the total value of the award is 150 thousand Egyptian pounds. The first prize includes 75 thousand Egyptian pounds and a shield of honor. The second prize is 50 thousand Egyptian pounds, the third prize is 25 thousand Egyptian pounds.

 

And the Fine Art Criticism Award, 18 critical studies were submitted by 18 contestants, and the total value of the prize is 100,000 Egyptian pounds. The first prize includes 50,000 Egyptian pounds and a shield of honor, the second prize is 30,000 Egyptian pounds, and the third prize is 20,000 Egyptian pounds.

 

As for the Photography Award, 728 works of art were presented by 284 contestants, and the total value of the award amounted to 150 thousand pounds. The first prize includes 75 thousand Egyptian pounds and a shield of honor, the second prize 50 thousand Egyptian pounds, and the third prize 25 thousand Egyptian pounds.

 

The names of the winners will be announced during the distribution ceremony. Arts Awards for the sixth session, coinciding with the opening of the group exhibition, which includes the works of artists, architects and researchers who qualified for the final stage, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture at the Gezira Arts Center.
