Davos.. The Minister of Communications discusses the growth of the digital economy with the Kingdom’s partners
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, a series of high-level meetings within the participation of the Kingdom’s delegation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, with the aim of strengthening digital partnerships, supporting innovation, and promoting the growth of the digital economy.
The meetings included a meeting with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gaukowski, to discuss the shared visions between the two countries on the digital economy and sustainability through innovation and digital capacity building.
Discussing partnership in innovation and technology
Al-Sawaha also met with Rwanda’s Minister of Information Technology, Communications and Innovation, Paula Ingabire, to discuss partnership in the areas of innovation, technology, artificial intelligence initiatives, and capacity development under the umbrella of the Digital Cooperation Organization.
He also held separate meetings with the Minister of Digitization in Malaysia, Gobind Singh Deo, the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies in South Africa, Sule Malazi, and the Minister of Economy, Digitization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism in Romania, to expand the partnership with the Kingdom in innovation, developing digital capabilities and promoting innovation, in a way that contributes to building ecosystems. Integrated and sustainable digital.
Building a resilient digital economy
The Minister of Communications also met with Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Matthias Cormann to expand and support sustainable development through innovation and artificial intelligence, to build a resilient digital economy that supports sustainability and growth through innovation.
The Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali, with CEO and co-founder of ASQAL, Georges-Olivier Raymond, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of quantum computing, and develop advanced technologies to support the growth of the digital economy in the Kingdom.
