المملكة: Municipalities require a traffic study on the site to license amusement parks

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has determined the location and space requirements for licensing entertainment centers and amusement parks within and outside the urban area of ​​cities.
The Ministry confirmed that the percentage of building setbacks and permitted heights for recreational facilities located inside and outside the urban zone and with an independent building, within sites designated for commercial or recreational use or within sites permitted in accordance with regulations and instructions, is subject to the approved building system in the area where the activity is located.
These facilities are also afforested in accordance with the controls and requirements of the afforestation policy approved by the Ministry.
The Ministry stressed that amusement parks must submit a traffic study on the site, uses, and surrounding roads, taking into account other requirements from the supervising authority.
She said that the location of amusement parks must be chosen based on the structural plans of the cities, or the sites approved by the competent authority in the secretariats or municipalities that do not have structural plans and are subject to the building regulations of the city or the nearest city if they are not available.
Regarding parking, the Ministry stipulates that “4” parking spaces be provided for every “100 square meters” for recreational centers located in an independent building.
With regard to amusement parks, the Ministry requires the submission of a traffic study to determine the number of parking spaces, based on the expected number of attendees, the method of their arrival, and the method of distributing parking on the site so that the number of parking spaces does not exceed “25” parking spaces for every “100 square meters” of the total area of ​​the amusement park located in the center of the city (800). m from the city center at a maximum,” and the number of parking spaces shall not be less than “20” parking spaces for every “100 m2” of the total area of ​​the city that is located outside the city center (800 – 1600 meters from the city center). The city.
The number shall also not be less than “22.2” parking spaces for every “100 square meters” of the total area of ​​the city that are located in peripheral areas “farther than 1,600 meters from the city center.”
She noted that the number of parking lots must not be less than 25 for every 100 square meters of the total area of ​​the amusement park located outside the urban area.
