The launch of the award in its new form comes as an extension of the “Creativity” Award for Media Students, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, in the year 2001, as a platform aimed at discovering distinguished competencies among media students in Arab countries are different, and give Arab media institutions the opportunity to benefit from these competencies and involve them in different media sectors.
Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, said that the award in its new form continues the mission for which it was launched in 2001 to be an incentive for young people to begin the path of professional excellence during their studies in various media specializations, stressing the keenness of Dubai Press Club works on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to discover distinguished competencies among male and female media students, and to prepare new talents from qualified youth. To lead the Arab media development process in various sectors, to ensure keeping pace with the rapid global development in the field of the media industry.
She added: “Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, and the continuous directives of His Highness, we will work to provide all the necessary support to media students to advance their abilities and confirm the effectiveness of their role in supporting the future of Arab media,” pointing out that The award represents an opportunity for young media students, male and female, to highlight their talents and competencies through an important forum and platform that will ensure that the winner appears on the media scene in the Arab world, which expands the job opportunities for them in the field. The most prestigious media institutions, and it will also serve as a window through which media institutions look at young talents who can be included in their ranks and benefit from their talents in enriching the Arab media scene.
For his part, Jassim Al-Shamsi, a member of the award’s organizing committee, confirmed that consideration was taken in designing the award in its new form, 16 years after its first launch, to keep pace with the great development that media work has witnessed over the past twenty years, as this year it includes 6 categories: Podcasts, electronic games, and multimedia, in addition to the categories of photography, short video, and press reports.
He said that participation is now open to male and female students studying media specializations in all Arab countries, and that participation is required to be through universities, or directly through the student, provided that an official letter issued by the university or college to which the male or female student is affiliated is attached, with approval. to nominate for the award, and confirms that the submitted work adheres to all declared rules and standards.

In turn, Amna Khalil, a member of the award’s organizing committee, confirmed that the “Ebdaa” Award will pave the way for building a new media base that works to enhance the capabilities of the Arab and regional media reality, and that its return in a new form after 16 years comes within the framework of the main work strategy of the Dubai Press Club, which aims To discover young media competencies to come up with an advanced model for the future media work environment.
She said that the media industry currently needs a flowing river of new experiences and talents that help enrich the Arab media reality, and that the Dubai Press Club is keen to meet these requirements while emphasizing the principle of providing the opportunity for young people to enter the arena of media creativity, pointing out that the announcement of The winners and prizes will be handed over during a ceremony held on this occasion within the activities of the Arab Youth Media Forum.
The value of each of the categories included in the “Creativity 2025” Award reaches 5,000 US dollars, and participation can be done in both Arabic and English, provided that the nominated work is original and not copied, copied or imitated. Participation can be made either individually or as a collective work, provided that the work does not include Submitted within any category of advertisement or promotion for any product or entity, the student and the nominated business owner (whether an individual or a group) must also provide a written pledge that all intellectual property rights for the work submitted for the award belong to the award. Exclusively, and the organizing committee has the right to use it or parts of it in the promotional operations of the award.
