Annual inflation in Morocco will decline to 2.4% in 2024

Rabat, January 22 / WAM / The High Commission for Planning in Morocco announced today, Wednesday, that annual inflation in the Kingdom, measured by the consumer price index, decreased to 2.4% during 2024, compared to 6.1% during 2023, and 6.6% during 2022. .

Food prices, the main driver of inflation in Morocco, rose 0.8% and non-food items 1.2%.

The inflation rate also declined last December by 0.2% compared to the previous month, due to a 0.2% decline in food prices and the stability of non-food item prices.

During December 2024, the Central Bank of Morocco reduced the key interest rate by 25 basis points to 2.5%.
