Under the directives of the President of the State, the UAE provides humanitarian aid to support food security in Chad

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and within the framework of its global response to humanitarian needs, the UAE provided comprehensive aid to the friendly Republic of Chad, during the period from December 25, 2024 until January 15, 2025, with the aim of supporting deserving families and enhancing food security. In the most affected areas and mitigating the effects of the recent floods in Chad.
The humanitarian aid, which amounted to 1,000 tons, included 30,000 food baskets and more than 20,000 blankets and other supplies, which contributed to improving the living conditions of more than 150,000 people, especially in rural and remote areas.
Rashid Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Chad, stressed that this initiative comes within the framework of the close relations between the UAE and the Republic of Chad, and as an extension of the UAE’s humanitarian efforts aimed at supporting communities in need around the world.
Al-Shamshi added: “We work in cooperation with our local partners to ensure that aid reaches those who need it, which reflects the UAE’s commitment to its humanitarian and development role on the international scene and its established approach since the era of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the directives of the wise leadership, which always provides support.” The urgent response of countries and peoples in times of crises and disasters works to enhance the values of human solidarity and achieve sustainable development goals, which contributes to improving the lives of affected communities around the world.”
The project was implemented through the UAE Embassy in N’Djamena – the Humanitarian Aid Coordination Office – in cooperation with the competent authorities in the Republic of Chad.
