The market aims to raise awareness of the importance of agriculture in the eastern region, focus on distinctive local crops, support the national product, and enhance awareness of Qatif’s agricultural wealth. The market provides a family entertainment environment through a variety of accompanying activities that serve all family members.
The market opens its doors to visitors daily from 4 pm to 10 pm, and continues for 11 days, providing them with a unique experience that combines the richness of local agricultural products with the splendor of heritage and cultural events.
A diverse assortment that supports local production
The market includes 60 diverse corners, displaying a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruits, in addition to honey, dates, dairy products and manufacturing industries, such as date molasses and organic tomato sauce with herbs. A group of beekeepers and traditional food product makers will also participate in the market, offering delicious popular dishes.
Mohammed Al Turki, Al Rams Project Manager and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Farmers Market, confirmed that the market aims to support local farmers, enhance the culture of local consumption, and stimulate economic activity in the region, in addition to enriching social and cultural life.
He pointed out that the events included awareness, educational and entertainment activities, coinciding with the “Year of Saudi Crafts 2025” adopted by the Ministry of Culture.
The market was keen to provide an interactive environment for all family members, by organizing training workshops, artists’ corners, folklore events, and live music concerts, in addition to a special corner for children.
Al Dur Organic Farm
“Al-Durr Organic Farm” also participates in the market, which offers a wide range of 100% organic vegetables and fruits, free of any chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
The farm’s products vary to include a wide range of vegetables and fruits, starting from leafy ones, such as coriander, parsley, and lettuce, to different types of tomatoes, such as cherry and marzani, in addition to natural tomatoes, which are distinguished by their high quality and suitability for all types of cooking.
Al-Durr Organic Farm also offers a variety of date products, such as molasses and Al-Ikhlas dates, in addition to derivative products such as pesto sauce, organic herbal tomato sauce, tomato paste and dried tomatoes.
He pointed out that Al-Durr Farm’s participation in the farmers’ market has multiple goals, as it seeks to motivate visitors to adopt a healthy lifestyle, and to educate them about the importance of eating food free of chemicals that may negatively affect health.
Different crafts and distinguished craftsmen
Al-Za’ir added that his participation in Al-Harfain Market in central Awamiyah reflects government support for farmers, and encourages the community to support the local product, because of its great economic and health benefits.
Among the participants in the market is the artist and craftsman Hussein Al-Dahim, who has a unique talent in inlaid Qur’anic verses and characters with beads and crystals.
Al-Dahim, who has been practicing this craft for more than 45 years, explained that it is considered unique in the Kingdom and the Arab world, and is rare in other Arab countries.
Dhaim, who participated in many major Saudi festivals such as Al-Janadriyah, Al-Dawkhla, Okaz, and Jeddah Bazaars, indicated that he is currently participating in the activities of the farmers’ market held in the center of Al-Awamiyah to display his distinctive artistic creations.
Dehaim confirmed that the idea of inlaying Qur’anic verses began with him inlaying characters with beads and crystals, and then developed to include Qur’anic verses, adding a spiritual touch to his artistic creations.
