Alba promoted 2,082 male and female employees over the past five years

The company’s Bahrainization rate rose to 87%.

As part of its continued commitment to developing its national competencies, Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. announced… (Alba), the world’s largest single-site aluminum smelter, has promoted more than 2,080 employees over the past five years. The company held a special celebration to celebrate its national cadres, including 218 male and female employees who were promoted in 2024, in the presence of CEO Ali Al-Baqali, members of the executive and administrative bodies, and representatives of the two labor unions, on January 23, 2025. On this occasion, CEO Ali Al-Baqali stated, saying: “The percentage of Bahrainisation has increased over the last five years to 87% of the total workforce in Alba, which today includes 3,179 male and female employees. During this period, the company also employed 412 Bahraini men and women, preparing them to be active contributors to the national economy. Al-Baqali added: “We are committed to growing and developing these competencies, and providing them with the necessary technical and leadership skills to ensure the sustainability of the company’s success and development in the future.” It is worth noting that since 2020, Alba has enrolled more than 1,400 male and female employees in professional development programs. Which the company implements directly, such as the training and development program for employees of supervisory grades, and the bridge and skills measurement programs for employees of non-supervisory grades. In addition, during the same period, Alba supported 241 Bahraini employees in pursuing their academic studies in diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, in cooperation with local and international universities, in order to enhance their potential and support their professional development in the company.
