To enhance safety, Tesla launches an update to repair 1.2 million cars in China

American automaker Tesla is scheduled to roll out a software update to about 1.2 million of its cars in China – half the fleet sold in the country – to fix problems with power steering and rear-view cameras that could pose safety risks.

Most prominent problems

The Government Administration for Market Regulation explained on Friday that the steering problem is a software problem that could cause the electronic power steering system to malfunction, according to Bloomberg News Agency on Friday.
She added that a potential defect in the rear-view cameras in cars may obstruct drivers’ field of vision when reversing, which increases the risk of a collision.
Tesla will launch a remote software fix for 871,087 locally produced Model 3 and Model Y vehicles to address the power steering problem.
