The Saudi Foreign Minister makes his first visit to Damascus since the fall of Assad

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrived in Damascus on Friday, where he will meet with the leader of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, who seeks to open a new page in relations with Saudi Arabia, according to a Syrian official source via Telegram.
This is the first visit by the Saudi Foreign Minister to Syria since the fall of President Bashar al-Assad on December 8, 2024 and the rise of opposition factions to power in Syria.
The new authorities expressed their desire to open a new page in relations with Saudi Arabia, which Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani visited in early January on his first foreign visit.
