"Dubai Electricity" It hosts two international activities on the occasion of the International Clean Energy Day

Dubai, January 26 / WAM / The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority hosted the “Renewable Energy” and “Women in Diplomacy”, which were organized by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and the International Renewable Energy Agency “IRina”, at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Complex In the context of celebrating the International Clean Energy Day, which falls on January 26 of each year.
The opening words of the effectiveness were delivered by His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and Francesco Lamera, Director General United Arab Emirates, “Irina”, and a number of high -level dignitaries and international delegations.
The “Renewable Energy Hadith” event is a link between the International Agency and its permanent representatives, and the diplomatic community in the UAE, and the event brings together a number of experts and stakeholders who share their experiences and experiences and through which opportunities, projects and best practices in the renewable energy sector are presented.
The “Women in Diplomacy” event contributes to strengthening the diplomatic network, especially with regard to the pioneering role of women in the renewable energy sector, where experiences and knowledge are exchanged and the construction of partnerships that contribute to accelerating the shift towards renewable energy and dealing with the repercussions of climate change.
Al -Dahhak said that the world’s cooperation to address the climate crisis has become more urgent than ever, because cooperative work is the best solution to reach all climatic goals, especially since 2024 was the first year in which global temperatures exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to before the levels of the revolution Industrial, pointing out that clean energy solutions provide the world a serious path to ensure long -term low -carbon energy security.
She added that the UAE leads this change through its national goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, as well as through many major projects for clean energy inside and outside the country, including in the global southern countries.
She called for the renewal of collective commitment to immediate action to accelerate the path of the global transformation of the energy sector, and to ensure that no one can fail from the knees, as this is an essential condition for building a future in which clean energy contributes to pushing development, and protecting the planet for future generations.
For his part, His Excellency Saeed Al -Tayer said that the sustainability and innovation center of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is a practical translation of the guidance of good leadership and embodying the vision of the ambitious body in this field.
He added that the authority seeks to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global lighthouse in renewable and clean energy, sustainability, and innovation, inspired by the leading initiatives and achievements of the UAE, which contributes to achieving a sustainable future, in line with the ambitious goals of global climate work, and ensuring a sustainable future for future generations.
For his part, Francesco Lamera said that the celebration of the World Clean Energy Day this year coincides with the anniversary of the founding of “Irina” on January 26, 2009, which is an occasion that states the importance of renewable energy in supporting the transformation of the energy sector towards a prosperous future for all, pointing out that the expansion of the use of Renewable energy opens new horizons to counter climate change, enhance sustainable development, gender equality, and pollution reduction, paving the way to build a better future based on clean energy foundations.
The opening words followed, a joint session for each of the “Renewable Energy” event in its eighteenth session, and the effectiveness of “Women in Diplomacy” at its tenth session.
