Umm Al Quwain Businesswomen Council organizes the harvest of our farms

Umm Al -Quwain on January 26 / WAM / The Business Women Council organized the “Harvest of Mazna” forum in the presence of Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Head of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain.

The forum was held yesterday, in cooperation with Umm Al -Quwain School, the second and third episode of girls and with the support of the Um Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as part of the initiatives supporting the national program “Move Emirates” with the aim of developing local agricultural production and enhancing its quality and competitiveness by exchanging best practices in the field of sustainable agricultural development.

The forum – which was held on the waterfront in Umm Al Quwain – attended His Excellency Khalfan Ahmed Mesfer, President of Umm Al Quwain Chamber, and His Excellency Aisha Rashid Litem, member of the Federal National Council and Chairman of the Business Women Council Qiyin.

The activities of the forum included an exhibition in which local farms participated to display their agricultural and animal products, including dates, as well as companies specialized in coordination of gardens, agricultural equipment, feed production factories and organic fertilizers, in addition to livestock farms, birds and poultry.

The events also included workshops presented by the Emirates Association for Nature on Salmatic Plants, and other workshops organized by the Umm Al Quwain Municipality Department on Agriculture methods, preparation of organic fertilizers and soil improvement in addition to educational activities on healthy nutrition, and entertainment of children.

Sheikh Majid bin Saud Al -Mualla inspected the pillars of the forum and planted an agricultural seedlings and reviewed the products of national farms and household agricultural projects, and listened to an explanation from the participants on the means of developing the agricultural sector and irrigation and gardening techniques in addition to students’ participation in addition to workshops organized by government departments.

Sheikh Majid bin Saud Al -Mualla praised the efforts of the Ministry of Education in instilling the culture of agriculture and the production of food for students, which contributes to preparing a conscious generation that contributes to sustainable agricultural development.

He expressed his admiration for the participation of farmers, their products and innovations, and their role in enhancing food security and increasing agricultural productivity.

For its part, His Excellency Aisha Rashid Litem confirmed that the forum comes within the framework of the strategy of the Women’s Business Council to support national initiatives and programs, noting that the forum represents a platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge in the agricultural field between different groups, especially school students.

She pointed out that the forum reflects the keenness of the Women’s Business Council, Umm Al -Quwain, to support societal initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable development and economic and social progress, stressing that the forum constituted an opportunity to enhance cooperation between students, farmers, companies and factories in a way that contributes to creating new opportunities to market agricultural products and support farmers, which is reflected Positive to the national economy.

For their part, participants in the forum stressed the importance of such initiatives in supporting the agricultural sector and enhancing its role in achieving the food security of the state.
