Dubai, January 26/ WAM/ The UAE, in cooperation with the International Renewable Energy Agency “IRENA”, hosted today a dialogue session dedicated to the “Women in Diplomacy” and “Renewable Energy Hadith”, on the occasion of the International Clean Energy Day, which falls on January 26, each general.
The event coincided this year with the 16th anniversary of the founding of “Irina”, while emphasizing the importance of global commitment to provide comprehensive access to clean energy and achieving the climatic goals that were pledged during the historical “Emirates Agreement” at the conclusion of the “COP28” conference.
The session, hosted by the Sustainability and Innovation Center of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, discussed the role of cooperation between the UAE and “Irina” in enhancing gender balance in energy diplomacy and leading its issues while supporting the comprehensive dialogue in the success of the global transformation in the field of energy. The event hosted the permanent representatives of the countries of the world for “Irina”, diplomats and leaders of the energy sectors from different countries to enhance the desired impact, develop these programs and initiatives, exchange experiences, consolidate best practices and modernize the road map towards the future.
Participants touched on the main topics and structures of future sessions, and discussed ways to increase the momentum of gender balance dialogues and the transformation in the field of energy before the “COP30” Conference “COP30” at the end of this year in Bilim, Brazil.
In this regard, His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, affirmed the UAE’s commitment to a fair and comprehensive transition to clean energy, pointing out that today’s sessions establishes the importance of inclusion and gender balance in advancing sustainable development.
She expressed confidence that empowering women and ensuring their participation will launch the full capabilities of the global energy sector, noting the importance of hosting this important dialogue and working with “Irina” and other countries to accelerate the global shift towards clean energy.
For its part, His Excellency Dr. Nawal Al -Hosani, the permanent representative of the state at the International Renewable Energy Agency, affirmed that the permanent UAE partnership with “Irina” reflects the joint commitment to strengthening active vital dialogues that drive the real transformation wheel.
She drew attention to the keenness to expand the attendees and make way for various views and innovative solutions to address the most urgent challenges in the field of climate and energy globally, by supporting gender balance and empowering leaders in the field of energy.

He said that the global distribution of renewable energy is still very uneven, with its increasingly regretting the global south, stressing that there is an urgent global work to address the structural and organizational barriers that hinder progress, such as gaps in biomedical infrastructure, organizational frameworks, technical ability, And the need to increase the investment significantly.
The session concluded with a field tour at the Sustainability and Innovation Center of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, during which the delegates and representatives of countries were briefed on the latest technologies in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex, the largest project to generate renewable energy in the world in one location according to the product system Independent.
