84.8% of the total women’s forces operating at Diwa UAE

In the framework of the celebration of the “International Clean Energy Day”, which falls on January 26 of each year, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Diwa) hosted the “Renewable Energy” and “Women in Diplomacy”, which was organized by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the International Agency For renewable energy (IRENA), at a time when the authority revealed that Emirati women constitute 84.83% of the total female forces working in it.

The Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, said: “On the International Clean Energy Day, we must not only celebrate the progress and opportunities provided by clean energy, but rather we renew our collective commitment to immediate action to accelerate the global transformation of the energy sector, and to ensure that no one will be left behind, This is a prerequisite for building a future in which clean energy contributes to pushing development and protecting our planet for future generations.

In turn, the Managing Director, CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, said: “The effectiveness of (renewed energy) represents an interactive platform that brings together the permanent representatives of the International Renewable Energy Agency and decision makers in the UAE diplomatic community, and experts, to explore opportunities and exchange best practices in The renewable and clean energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy solutions as a basis for a sustainable future, while the effectiveness of (women in diplomacy) highlighted the pioneering and pivotal role of women working in the diplomatic corps in the field of renewable energy and facing climate change challenges ».

Al -Tayer explained: “The number of employees of the commission reached 1938 employees working in all its departments, and this number includes 797 employees in the engineering and technical sector, and the largest in the country is considered, as Emirati women constitute 84.83% of the total female forces working in the authority.”
