The Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a ceremony honoring the commercial sector participating in the National Encouragement Initiative for the Commercial Sector in its third edition, where Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Trade, honored a group of representatives of the commercial sector who benefited from the national initiative launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, represented by the Consumer Protection Department, and the initiative is centered around About exempting promotional campaign fees and extending commercial discount periods during the Bahrain holiday season.

Representatives of the commercial sector were honored, in appreciation of their efforts and support for the commercial sector during the Bahrain holiday season and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebrations of its national holidays for the year 2024. The national initiative included exempting fees for promotional campaigns and extending the periods of commercial discounts starting in December 2024.

This initiative received great demand from shop owners and commercial complexes in various regions of the Kingdom, as 1,210 licenses were issued for promotional campaigns and commercial discounts, representing an increase of approximately 10% over the year 2023.

This initiative is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to enhance the participation of the commercial sector in national events, and to stimulate shopping activity for citizens, residents and visitors during the holiday season of the Kingdom of Bahrain. It also aims to ensure the stability of local markets and protect the rights of consumers in the Kingdom.

The Consumer Protection Department continues to grant the necessary licenses for promotional campaigns and commercial discounts, as well as prize draws, in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. 1 of 1993, in order to ensure the regulation of the commercial sector and provide a vibrant and prosperous commercial environment characterized by integrity and justice for consumers in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
