This came during the announcement of the Civil Aviation Department in Ras Al -Khaimah for its achievement and through Ras Al -Khaimah International Airport a noticeable increase in its operations during the year 2024, whose results were to achieve a significant increase in the movement of passengers, shipping, and aircraft movement compared to last year.

The Ras Al Khaimah Airport report revealed a positive growth path, highlighting the increasing role of the airport as a major axis in the fields of air and logistical travel in the area.

Sheikh Salem Al Qasimi said: According to those promising results, Ras Al Khaimah Airport received a record number of passengers of 661,765 passengers in 2024, an increase of 28% compared to 2023, and at a rate of nearly twice the number of passengers compared to 2022.

This rise is attributed to several factors, including expanding airline services, increasing the number of destinations, and general recovery in demand for travel.

Also, the number of departure passengers increased by 39% from last year, bringing the total number of departures passengers to 293,815 passengers.

Shipping operations at Ras Al Khaimah Airport witnessed an exceptional increase of about 97% in 2024, when 6,652 tons of shipments were treated.

This increase, which exceeded the expectations of 2024 by 190%, reflects the increasing importance of the airport in global supply chains, especially with the expansion of e -commerce and logistics.

The improved airport capabilities in the field of shipping, including adding shipping operations to “Fly Fayao”, contributed to achieving and accumulating the added value of airport operations.

Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi added that Ras Al Khaimah International Airport witnessed a strong increase in aircraft movement by 21.3%, with 7,440 flights in 2024.

This rise in air activity indicates an increase in air communication, as more airlines increased the frequency of flights on the current tracks or introduced new paths.

The increase in the movement of aircraft is in line with the growth in the movement of travelers and shipping, which reflects the effective and optimal use of infrastructure and services at the airport.

Within the framework of the developments and transformations achieved by the Civil Aviation Department in the Emirate of Ras Al -Khaimah, Ras Al Khaimah Airport has made a remarkable progress in expanding services, as Gulf currency exchange service was provided at each of the departure and arrival stations in mid -2024, which added a great value to travelers. The airport welcomed three new charter airlines, “Ural Air”, “Russia”, “Enter Air” and “Hi-Sky” Romania, which strengthened his connection to international markets.
