Former Egyptian and Zamalek national team star Amr Zaki was arrested at Cairo Airport

Today, Cairo International Airport investigators arrested the former Egyptian national team and Zamalek team star, Amr Zaki, while he was trying to travel abroad, to implement judicial rulings issued against him.
According to local media, sources revealed that the security examination showed that the player’s name was included in the lists of people banned from traveling due to family issues, and that further investigations revealed that a final judicial ruling was issued imprisoning him for a year, against the backdrop of an accidental injury case that occurred in the city of El Alamein.
She added that the competent authorities took the necessary legal measures immediately after his arrest, and he was detained in preparation for his transfer to the competent prosecution, to complete investigations and implement the sentences issued against him in accordance with the law.
The sources confirmed that the seizure came within the framework of the security procedures followed at Cairo Airport, to ensure the implementation of judicial rulings and prevent those wanted by security forces from leaving the country.
