Informed sources revealed to Al-Youm that a number of Universitiesto implement urgent ministerial circulars requiring a review of faculty members’ financial entitlements, based on strict controls approved by the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Education to control the disbursement process.

Updating general specialty data

Official documents showed that the suspension decisions were based on the results of “alignment” in the human resources system “Injaz,” which obligated academics to update general and specific specialty data according to the unified Saudi classification of educational levels and specializations.

The payroll and benefits departments explained in letters addressed to employees that the regular study of the entered data proved that the eligibility conditions for inclusion of the allowance were not met, which necessitates its official suspension from the payroll process by the month of February.

Allowance disbursement rates

The regulations set varying percentages for disbursing the allowance, with specialists in the engineering, medical, health and computer fields receiving the highest percentage of 40%, while 30% was allocated to administrative, financial and systems specializations.

The relative disparities included granting 25% to the specializations of languages, translation, basic and applied sciences, readings, special education and kindergarten, while it was decided to pay 20% to lecturers. And teaching assistants working in colleges in peripheral governorates.

The regulations confirmed the continued disbursement of the allowance to those entitled to it during the periods of summer vacation and sabbatical leave to ensure financial stability, while the right to the allowance falls immediately in cases of secondment or secondment to work outside the scope of the university.

The concerned authorities called on members who received suspension notices to communicate directly with the payroll departments in the event of inquiries, stressing the importance of the accuracy of the data entered to avoid any negative effects on Financial dues in the future.
