Barcelona officially withdraws from the Super League

The Spanish Football Club Barcelona announced today its official withdrawal from the European Super League Championship project.
Barcelona said in a brief statement on its website: “FC Barcelona hereby announces that it has today officially notified the European Super League Company and the clubs concerned of its withdrawal from the European Super League project.”
It is noteworthy that Barcelona was among the founding clubs of the European Super League project, along with Spanish Real Madrid.
The European Super League is a proposed annual football competition for clubs in which 20 European clubs compete. This league is designed to include 15 founding clubs, who participate permanently in this competition, with 5 other clubs that change every season, based on performance in the last season of the European local leagues.
