"Power circuit" and"National Meteorology" They sign a cooperation agreement

Abu Dhabi, January 29/ WAM/ The Energy Department in Abu Dhabi signed a cooperation agreement with the National Meteorological Center to conduct joint research studies aimed at benefiting from the amounts of rain in the country and supporting them with relevant initiatives, events and training programs.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Al -Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Energy Department, and His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Al -Mandous, Director General of the National Center for Meteorology and Head of the World Meteorological Organization.

His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Al -Rumaithi explained that this agreement comes within the framework of the Energy Department’s endeavor to take advantage of the research capabilities and advanced scientific capabilities, in cooperation with its strategic partners, to launch initiatives that contribute to enhancing energy efficiency, protecting water resources, ensuring their sustainability, and preserving the safety of the environment.

His Excellency added that the expertise and research tools owned by the National Meteorological Center in the field of meteorology and the study of the quantities of rain will constitute an added value to achieve the goals of the agreement, noting that the outcomes of this study will contribute to developing effective strategies to preserve water resources.

He stressed that the cooperation between the Energy Department and the National Meteorological Center is an important step to confront the challenges of climate change and achieve the sustainability of water in the future. It is enough to meet the needs of more than 350,000 homes.

He pointed out that the emirate adopted innovative and advanced techniques to address water challenges, and to follow effective policies and legislation in this field and stressed that institutional cooperation and mutual initiatives are a basic pillar to confront the challenges of water scarcity and ensure their sustainability for future generations.

For his part, Director General of the National Meteorological Center, President of the World Meteorological Organization, stressed the importance of signing this agreement, which comes within the framework of joint efforts with the Energy Department in Abu Dhabi, the leading body in enhancing the efficiency of resources and achieving environmental sustainability.

He added that this cooperation reflects the joint commitment to developing innovative solutions that support water management efficiently, and contributes to enhancing water security and ensuring the sustainability of natural resources, stressing that this partnership will contribute to achieving the state’s visions to confront the challenges of climate change by launching specialized qualitative initiatives and training programs, in addition to Adopting advanced technologies that enhance the efficiency of water resources to support current and future generations.

He pointed out that the National Meteorological Center has an integrated system of modern technologies and advanced infrastructure, which contribute to providing accurate and reliable data about the weather and climate, noting that these technologies play a vital role in supporting the energy circle in taking strategic decisions based on scientific foundations, which contributes to Achieving a balance between economic development and environmental protection.
