The Emir of Qatar arrives in Damascus and meets Ahmed Al -Shara

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived on Thursday in Damascus, on the first visit of the head of a state to Syria the day after the appointment of Ahmed Al -Shara as a transfer president, and about two months after Bashar al -Assad’s overthrow.

The Emiri Diwan wrote on the platform “X”, “His Highness the Emir arrives in the capital, Damascus, on an official visit to the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, and at the forefront of his future … Ahmed Al -Shara, President of the Syrian Arab Republic.”

The visit comes in the aftermath of a series of large -scale decisions taken by the new authorities, including the solution of all armed factions, including the Headquarters for the Liberation of Al -Sham, which was led by Sharia, in addition to the army and security services existing in the previous era, canceling the work of the constitution and dissolving the People’s Assembly and the Baath Party, which ruled the country for decades .
