Amna Al -Dahhak visits "The Agricultural Payman Festival" It emphasizes the support of citizens of citizens

Fujairah on January 31/ WAM/ His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment today visited the “Qudaa Agricultural Festival” in its second edition in the village of Qadda in Fujairah, which will continue until February 2.

The festival – organized by the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Fujairah and the Emirates Balanced Development Council – aims to highlight the history of agriculture in the benefit and celebration of farmers who play a vital role in the development of local crops.

During her tour, her Excellency was briefed on the corridors of the festival on the most prominent agricultural crops offered from the good of the Fujairah Emirate’s farms and witnessed a number of agricultural activities with the aim of highlighting the legacy of the UAE agricultural legacy.

His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak stressed that the Emirate of Fujairah is of special importance in the agricultural file in the Emirates because of its advanced great farms famous for the production of a variety of the most important agricultural crops.

Her Excellency said that, under the leadership and support of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, the emirate continues to expand the activity of agriculture and active contribution to the sustainable national food security system.

Al -Dahhak added that the UAE’s interest in agriculture is increasing day after day, as it is a pillar to enhance sustainable national food security and our goal is to enable citizens and local farmers through training programs and establish modern agricultural projects to increase the production of strategic crops and reduce dependence on import from abroad.

She emphasized that the goal of expanding agriculture and consolidating it is a culture and community practice throughout the country, explaining that agriculture should be a social activity before it is an economic activity, describing the Agricultural Possibility Festival that it plays a major role in this field by highlighting the legacy of the agricultural state and building it for the good generations.

She said that what we see from the agricultural movement in all the emirates of the state is in the interest of our national efforts to make agriculture one of the most important social and economic activities for decades to come and indicated the launch of major initiatives such as the National Program “Growing the Emirates” and “the National Agricultural Center”.

She emphasized that the coming period will witness a fundamental shift in strengthening the agricultural and food sector and said in this regard: “We attach special importance to providing support and training programs and helping to launch more agricultural projects, especially those that are based on climate smart modern agriculture that help us – not only to produce Food – but also to enhance the confrontation of climate changes and rationalize the consumption of our natural resources, especially water, and we are in constant communication with the crowds of farmers in the country through periodic meetings to get to know their visions and inform them of our plans to enable them in this field. Her Excellency added: “We want every individual in society that agriculture be an essential part of his life. Today we can grow everywhere from homes and ending with major farms. With agriculture, we will be more able to build a sustainable future in the UAE.”
