Abu Dhabi, February 3 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, received in his council in the capital Abu Dhabi, Father Xio Yong Shen, chief monks of the Shaolin Temple and the prominent religious authority in the Chinese Buddhism, within the framework of promoting cultural dialogue and consolidating the values of tolerance And coexistence between peoples.
Father Xio Young Shen is a prominent figure in the Chinese Buddhism, the head of the ancient Chalin Temple, known for his history that extends for more than 1500 years.
During the meeting, His Excellency welcomed Father Xu Yong Chen, praising his efforts in spreading a culture of tolerance, coexistence and promoting dialogue between civilizations through the Buddhist philosophy of “Chan”, which is based on the principles of mercy, love and mutual respect.
His Excellency referred to the role of the Shoalin Temple in supporting cultural exchange and enhancing cooperation between peoples, especially by spreading kung fu arts and meditation practices that enhance mental and physical balance.
He praised the efforts of the Shoalin Temple to take care of orphans and needy groups, noting that these efforts are in line with the established humanitarian principles adopted by the UAE in providing support and assistance to the most needy societies around the world.
His Excellency stressed the strength of cultural relations that link the UAE and China, noting that the UAE has always been a global center to enhance dialogue and tolerance between various cultures, expressing his great appreciation for the contributions of Father Xu Yong Chen in spreading the values of peace, tolerance and human coexistence across continents, which contributes to strengthening Cultural ties between different peoples.
His Excellency added that the UAE, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, believes in the importance of building bridges between different cultures, and enhancing the values of tolerance, coexistence and human brother Global.
For his part, Father Xio Yong Shen expressed his great happiness with the visit of the UAE, praising its pioneering experience in promoting tolerance and making it a basic pillar of its national and societal policies, which makes it a model to be followed globally in promoting the values of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence between different religions and cultures, which is in line with The philosophy of “Chan” that the Shoalin Temple believes in.
