Establishing a new medical school in Dubai

The American University of Dubai has entered into an understanding note to share with the Birlenman Medicine College at the University of Pennsylvania (between Medicine) to establish a medical school that is affiliated with the American University in Dubai, as the latter aims to enhance and support medical education in the United Arab Emirates by benefiting from the experiences of the Faculty of Medicine At the University of Pennsylvania, which ranks third among American medical colleges that depend on intense research.

The new partnership will witness a cooperation that “Bin Medicin” with the American University of Dubai to develop a curriculum for a doctoral degree program in medicine that uses best medical education practices in the United States of America, which is specially designed to meet the needs of the region. The purpose of the program is to teach and train medical students to become doctors who are able to provide global health care in the United Arab Emirates, which means that the programmers of the program will constitute elements working to make a major change in this field, at the national and international levels.

The partnership between the American University of Dubai and “Ben Midisin”, which is located within the framework of the UAE national strategy to increase capabilities in the health care sector, will contribute to meeting the increasing demand for medical cadres in the country, by training the next generation of doctors. It also enhances the centenary of the United Arab Emirates to give priority to education in the field of health sciences, and supports Dubai’s vision in consolidating the city’s position as a global center for medical or medical tourism.

The New American Medical College at Dubai will provide a pivotal point for education and research to introduce improvements to health results, and helps to enhance Dubai’s position as a regional pioneering center in this segment.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the American University of Dubai in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Muhammad Al -Mualla, and the director of the Acting Academic Accreditation Authority, Dr. Samira Al -Mulla, along with members of the leadership team from the American University of Dubai and the Faculty of Medicine in Pennsylvania.
