Sharjah Executive Program for Publishing Specialists starts April 14

Sharjah, February 8 / WAM / The Sharjah Book Authority announced the organization of the “Sharjah Executive Program for Publishing Specialists” at the American University of Sharjah during the period from 14 to 17 April in cooperation with New York University and the American University in Sharjah and sponsored by Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman Sharjah Book Authority Administration.
The announcement of the program, which is held for the first time outside the United States of America and targeting executives in the publishing sector, came during the participation of the authority in the “New Delhi International Book Fair 2025” currently held in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
The program aims to develop the skills of workers in the publishing industry, with a focus on artificial intelligence applications in marketing, design and data analysis, as well as content development and marketing strategies.
The participation of the “Sharjah Book Authority” at the New Delhi Book Fair 2025 comes as part of its commitment to the vision of Sharjah and its pioneering role in promoting global cultural dialogue and consolidating the presence of Emirati and Arab literature on the world stage.
In its wing, with the participation of an elite group of Emirati writers, the authority reviewed a set of publications that highlight the cultural movement in Sharjah and the Emirates, and reflects its commitment to supporting publishers, writers, translators and distributors through its pioneering initiatives such as the “Publishers Conference”, “Conference of Distributors” and “Translation Grant”.
In this context, His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakad Al -Amiri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority, said that participation in the exhibition is a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance Sharjah’s position as a global center for knowledge and open the prospects for cultural cooperation with India.
For his part, Mansour Al -Hassani, Director of Publishers Services Department at the Sharjah Book Authority, stressed the importance of developing the skills of publishers in the era of artificial intelligence, noting that the choice of Sharjah to host the international program reflects the global confidence in the position of Sharjah as a global cultural center, a kiss for publishing and the knowledge industry.
As part of its efforts to consolidate the position of Sharjah as a global center for the publishing industry and promoting cultural dialogue between the various global markets, the Sharjah Book Authority participated during its attendance at the activities of the New Delhi International Book Fair in the twelfth session of the “CEO SPEAK Over Chairaman’s Breakfast” forum.
During the forum, His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakad Al -Amiri delivered a speech in which he highlighted the pioneering role that Sharjah plays in the publishing industry, reviewing the initiatives that strengthened its position as a global center for publication and culture.
On the sidelines of her participation in the exhibition within the commission’s pavilion, the “Blash Her” initiative, which was founded by Sheikha Badour Al Qasimi, to help women overcome professional challenges, organized a discussion session on “the rise of entrepreneurs in the field of publishing in India”, with the participation of a number of pioneers in the field, where it was done Discuss the challenges and opportunities facing women in this industry.
The emirate’s delegation participating in the exhibition includes a group of leading institutions and cultural bodies in Sharjah, with the aim of holding strategic meetings with international participants to explore cooperation opportunities and enhance the spread of Arab and Emirati literature globally.
