The conclusion of the Al -Warraqin Festival for the Book used in Sharjah

Sharjah, February 9 / WAM / The activities of the ninth session of the Al -Warraqin Festival for the Book, which was organized by the Sharjah Human Services City in the Palm Park in Sharjah, concluded from February 5 to February 9, under the slogan “When the books live … the future tales are lined up”, the middle A large public turnout exceeded tens of thousands.

Her Excellency Sheikha Jamila bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, head of the festival’s high committee, thanked the volunteers for their efforts, which had a great impact on the success of the festival and achieving its goals, expressing appreciation to the festival visitors, and to all organizers, supporters, and media sponsors.

Her Excellency affirmed that these efforts are one of the most important pillars that contributed to the sustainability of organizing the festival since 2006, noting that the city pays special attention to sustainability, developing societal awareness and consolidating the principles of social responsibility in all its activities.

She added that the city has responded since 2020 to the requests of society by making the Al -Warraqin Festival for the Book used sustainable, after the great success in previous sessions, as it decided to organize the “Al -Warraqin Market for used books” in the first Saturday of each month, continuing its cultural and knowledge role towards persons with disabilities and society.

Her Excellency also praised the popularity and interaction of the audience with the festival, appreciating the efforts of the participants, which contributed to the success of the ninth session in all its details, from discipline, organization and diversity in valuable books, educational means and accompanying events.

The conclusion of the festival witnessed the activities of the “Emirati Heritage Day”, which embodied the Emirati originality, originality and customs, where visitors reviewed the system of Emirati values ​​and ethics known as “Emirati Sunnah”, which expresses the national identity, and is based on the principles of magnanimity, generosity, and compassion.

Today also witnessed the organization of the “right of tonight” event, on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan, in addition to providing Emirati popular food, organizing cultural competitions around the UAE, and honoring the winners of the competitions.

The festival witnessed the participation of Eng. Issa Abdel Karim Al -Yafie, Head of the Department of Livestock Development in the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the content maker known as “travelers”, who volunteered through his “professional hobby” to prepare a naval meal for the festival visitors in the “Sea Roundabout”.

Engineer Issa Al -Yafii stressed that the Al -Warraqin Festival has a special place in himself, pointing to his volunteering in previous sessions within the Committee for Sorting and Classification of Books and thanked the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services and for all its employees, wishing it continued success.

The senior management of the Al -Warraqin Festival for the Book, the used book, announced a 50% reduction on all the prices of books on the closing day of the festival, as a result of the great demand for the festival. The “Books packages” that contain a group of valuable books were provided at reduced prices, as these bouquets were sold with a reduction Noticeable for its price.
