The National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals affirms the importance of international cooperation to ensure a sustainable future

During its meeting within the activities of the World Government Summit

Dubai, February 10/ WAM/ The National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals affirmed the UAE’s commitment to consolidating its leadership in achieving the sustainable development goals at the local and global levels, and includes strengthening effective strategic partnerships that accelerate the pace of achievement and push the sustainable development wheel towards a better future for all countries and societies.
This came during the first meeting of the 2025 Committee, which it held within the “Sustainable Development Goals Forum in Implementation”, which is organized entitled “The anticipation of development goals 2045: comprehensive paths towards sustainable development”, within the activities of the World Summit of Governments 2025.
The meeting, which represents a strategic platform to review the latest developments on national efforts, and discuss the future action plan, witnessed a review of the axes of the “Sustainable Development Goals in Implementation” forum, and the discussion of the committee’s work map for 2025, which includes a series of international events and participation aimed at establishing integration between National and international bodies, and ensure the implementation of initiatives and projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development.
His Excellency Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, Chairman of the National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals, affirmed the vital role of the committee in leading national efforts towards achieving the global agenda 2030.
Lootah said: “The UAE leads change through ambitious visions, innovative policies, and qualitative strategic partnerships that make a tangible difference, and its position strengthens a leading global center in sustainability, and stresses the importance of the national and international cooperation approach to ensure the construction of a sustainable future for nations and peoples.”
He added that the committee continues to work to consolidate a dynamic cooperation environment, integrating national efforts within a global network of influential partnerships to enhance the collective impact, and building an integrated system that speeds up the wheel of development and causes a sustainable global impact, not only for our country but for the whole world.
The National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals includes in its membership a group of concerned national bodies, which plays a pivotal role in implementing policies that support international goals, and includes the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, and the Ministry Energy and infrastructure, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and the Ministry of Community Empowerment.
It is worth noting that the National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals has been formed with the aim of implementing the sustainable development goals 2030, align the priorities of the UAE with the international goals, and exchange of experiences with partners locally and internationally, to expand the circle of active participants in implementing the United Nations agenda for the sustainable development goals.
