The conclusion of the marathon "Friends of Arthritis Association"
Sharjah, February 10/ WAM/ The Friends of Arthritis Society, one of the associations supporting health of the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah concluded the 12th annual marathon activities, which witnessed the participation of more than 6000 contestants of different ages and nationalities.
Under the slogan “The movement is life and life is the movement”, the marathon started in the presence of Wahid Abdel Aziz, the president of the association, where the participants in the race stations competed in a major sporting and awareness event organized by the association annually with the aim of enhancing awareness about arthritis.
His Excellency Wahida Abdel Aziz expressed her happiness with the great response by the public to this distinguished societal sporting event, stressing the association’s keenness to organize the marathon annually in line with the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, which is committed to providing a healthy environment and supporting patients In Sharjah, I also thanked all the participants in the marathon for their support for this important health issue.
The fruitful cooperation with many governmental institutions and private companies, led by Sharjah Sports Council, Fast Construction Company, Sharjah Media City, Shams, Commercial and Tourism Development Authority, University Hospital, Ministry of Health and Community Protection, and Sharjah Special Education Authority.
