Sharjah theatrical days start February 19

Sharjah, February 10/ WAM/ The theater administration in the Department of Culture announced the details of the 34th session of Sharjah theatrical days, which will start this February 19 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Maryam Al -Muaini, Director of Events Department in theater Department, explained during a press conference held today that this year will be distinguished by its diversity, and includes competing theatrical performances on the awards, and intellectual seminars dealing with important technical and cultural issues.

She pointed out that the festival aims to present distinguished theatrical performances that reflect the development of Arab theatrical thought, in addition to discussions on the influence of theater in society.

Al -Muaini announced that the course opens with the “Bukhara” show, which won the Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Award for the best Arab theatrical work, and artists, Asaad Fadda and Maryam Sultan, will be honored in appreciation of their prominent contributions.

The shows are competing for the festival awards and include “Al -Saleh”, “Screams of the Abyss”, “The Burns of Fire”, “Kaab and Half of Shoes”, “Try your plow” and “Baba”.

Works outside the competition will also be shown, such as “Ring Khasoum” and “Cotton Mice”.

The program also includes the intellectual forum “Criticism .. Memory of the Arab Theater”, which will bring together researchers and thinkers from various Arab countries.

Honorary activities will be held by the artist Asaad Fadda and the artist Maryam Sultan, in addition to specialized seminars on scenography, directing, and acting.

The festival will conclude on February 26 by announcing the award winners and honoring them at a closing ceremony held at the Palace of Culture.
