The Board of Trustees of the American University in Sharjah adopts the strategic framework of the university

Sharjah, February 11 / WAM / The Board of Trustees of the American University in Sharjah approved during its first meeting yesterday headed by Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the University in the resort of Al -Rafraf, in Sharjah, a set of major decisions aimed at enhancing the strategic vision of the university, upgrading its academic excellence and enhancing institutional governance in the university.
Sheikha Badour Al Qasimi said that the decisions taken by the Board of Trustees of the American University in Sharjah express our full commitment to academic distinction, innovation and sustainability. The adoption of the five -year strategic framework of the university contributes to determining a clear path for our future, ensuring the university’s continued inspiration and empowerment of the next generation of leaders, stressing that the steps that have taken will enhance the impact of Our university is more providing students and faculty members with the tools needed to succeed in this rapid development world.
During the meeting, the Council adopted the five-year strategic framework of the American University in Sharjah 2025-2030, which is a comprehensive road map for the university aimed at directing its development and enhancing its commitment to academic excellence, research impact and the success of its students, as the strategic framework determines the university’s priorities in the fields of education, innovation and financial sustainability to ensure its continuity as an institution The pioneer in higher education.
The council also approved the appointment of Ali Al -Suwaidi as the Vice President of the University for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Shaima bin Tala’i as deputy director of the university for the student experience. The Council also approved a number of important academic initiatives, including the launch of the Master of Translation program after its restructured and the establishment of the Financial and Banking Markets Academy.
These initiatives come within the framework of the university’s commitment to academic excellence and education associated with the industry, as students provide the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in their fields.
The Council was awarded the title of Fakhri Professor to Dr. Abdul Rahman Al -Ali, Professor of Computer Engineering at the University and Dr. Zayed Abdel Hadi, a member of the faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the university, in appreciation of their distinguished service and prominent scientific and educational contributions.
In the context of strengthening institutional governance and financial supervision at the university, the Board of Trustees approved the independent financial statements of the American University in Sharjah and the unified and authentic financial data of the university for a period of 15 months and ended on August 31, 2024.
These decisions reflect the commitment of the Board of Trustees to consolidate the position of the American University in Sharjah as a leading institution in higher education, scientific research and innovation and ensure that its impact continues on the regional and international levels.
