A plan that guarantees 80% of Dubai’s population to all services within 20 minutes

On the sidelines of the work of the first day of the World Summit on Governments, the Dubai Municipality launched a “City Livble” report as an integrated framework that reflects municipal efforts in improving the quality of life and enhancing the ability to live in the emirate, in line with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Deputy The President of the State, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, to make Dubai the best city in the world by 2040, and gives 80% of the emirate’s population the ability to reach services within a maximum of 20 minutes.
The director of the Urban Planning Department in Dubai Municipality, Sanaa Al -Alili, told “Emirates Today on the sidelines of a press conference to launch the report that the framework is based on six main axes, three principles and three basic pillars – communication, sharing, sustainability, protection, pre -emptive, and present, which are essential elements to ensure competitiveness Dubai globally as one of the best cities to live.
She added that with regard to communication and within the framework of the urban work of the Emirate of Dubai, there is an ambitious plan represented in enabling 80% of the emirate’s population to access basic services in just 20 minutes, which enhances the ease of movement and the quality of the daily life of the population.
Al -Alili pointed out that with regard to the participation, the plan is based on constructive cooperation according to clear data and comprehensive data with partners in various departments and entities, while the Dubai Municipality focuses on sustainability by working to raise the percentage of protected areas from 32% currently to 60%, in addition to plans Ambiguity for afforestation and expansion of green spaces inside the city.
Al -Alili explained that the protection axis deals with a food security, noting that there is an integrated strategy to enhance local production through supporting the agricultural sector in Dubai, with the aim of reducing dependence on import and enhancing food sustainability in the emirate.
Al -Alili added that the axis of pre -emptive depends on developing an integrated database that helps in proactive planning and careful analysis of data and information to ensure smart decisions that support sustainable development.
As for the present, the Dubai Municipality seeks to enhance Dubai’s position globally as an ideal destination for living by preserving its cultural heritage and paying attention to historical and tourist areas, and consolidating its global position as one of the best cities to live, especially after it won the first place as the most clean city globally, stressing that the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 focuses on the integrated development of all sectors.
