Dubai, February 11 / WAM / The Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences received today Mr. Carlos Vargas, head of the international team’s secretariat on teachers at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in the framework of enhancing joint cooperation and developing strategic partnerships aimed at support And enable teachers. The meeting, which was held headed by Dr. Khalifa Al -Suwaidi, CEO and Secretary -General of the Foundation, and attended by a number of officials, discussed the updates of the global report on the teachers for the year 2026, which is a basic document in measuring and analyzing the reality of the education profession at the international level, as well as the most prominent transformations in the education sector, The proposed mechanisms to improve the conditions of teachers, in addition to highlighting the effective practices that can be built upon to ensure the sustainability of this profession and enhance its role in human and societal development. Dr. Khalifa Al -Suwaidi stressed that the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences starts from the interest of the United Arab Emirates in supporting and sensing global education for the importance of empowering teachers, and it shares with UNESCO to consider the teacher a basic pillar in building a sustainable and effective educational future in the world, He said, “Our partnership with UNESCO represents a strategic step towards achieving this goal, as we are keen to provide support for the existing efforts in diagnosing the reality of teachers worldwide and providing innovative solutions that keep pace with rapid transformations and their custody that have become real challenges that threaten the education profession, adding that the international report project For teachers for the year 2023, which was accomplished with the support of the Hamdan Foundation, he revealed the erosion of the teacher’s profession, the high rate of leakage and his reluctance for several reasons, which threatens dangerous dimensions that affect the sustainability of development.
Dr. Al -Suwaidi stressed the importance of continuing cooperation in this field and working effectively to expand the scope of solution programs and make education an attractive material and intellectual stimulating profession. For his part, Mr. Carlos Vargas, head of the international team’s secretariat on UNESCO, praised the efforts of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences in supporting education and its contributions to developing distinguished educational performance and caring for talented and innovative students.
