"Readiness" It launches a national program specialized in burn medicine

Abu Dhabi, February 16 / WAM / The National Initiative for Recitations and Medical Response launched “readiness”, the first international national program accredited to developing burn medicine and surgery centers in the country.

The program aims to build capacity and enhance readiness for an integrated medical response during emergencies and disasters, and targets health workers in the fields of burn surgery, emergency, intensive care, anesthesia, and nursing, according to a local and international approach.

This program is the first of its kind, as it was adopted by several prominent international institutions and also obtained scientific credits from the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, the Dubai Health Authority and the Ministry of Health and Community Protection.

The program includes a series of innovative initiatives that contribute to the development of burn medicine and surgery centers in the emirates of the country, the most prominent of which is the inauguration of the first training program specialized in internationally accredited burn medicine, the first mobile national center for burns, the establishment of the first academy specialized in burn medicine, and the adoption of the Emirates Burn Award To stimulate and develop burns units in government and private hospitals, and to enhance the system of treatment, research and awareness services in the country.

In conjunction with the launch of the national training program for burns, the “Abu Dhabi Burns Forum” was held in its second session with the participation of 200 doctors and technicians from health institutions related to burn specialties, as well as emergency doctors, general and cosmetic surgery and primary care.

Dr. Adel Al -Shamri Al -Ajmi, CEO of the Zayed Al -Ataa Initiative and head of the “Reader” program stressed the importance of the program in unifying the standards of specialized medical training for workers in burn centers, emergency departments, surgery and intensive care according to an international accredited approach.

For his part, Professor Roberto, head of the European Disaster Center, explained that the forum contributes to developing specialized medical cadres skills in diagnosing and treating burns and improving treatment and surgical services in government and private hospitals, noting that the forum included scientific lectures, workshops, training courses and realistic simulation exercises.

Dr. Noura Al -Ajmi, President of the UAE Council for Burns, stressed that the adoption of Abu Dhabi as a global training center for excellence in burn medicine reflects the state’s commitment to the development of the health care system and provides health facilities an opportunity to improve and develop in this field.

Dr. Amna Mohamed Belhoul, Consultant burn surgery and head of the Educational Committee of the Emirates Burn Medicine, explained that 75 employees of burn centers in state hospitals were trained through simulation scenarios in which burn surgeons, emergency doctors, intensive care teams and nursing sets participated, which enhances the level of preparedness for emergency situations.
