Obliging government departments in Dubai to classify “golden fronds” in the design and building of buildings

In detail, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Supreme Energy Council in Dubai, chaired the 86th meeting of the Council, in the presence of the Vice -President of the Council, Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer.

His Highness said in a post on his account on the “X” platform, yesterday: “Today I headed the eighty -sixth meeting of the Supreme Energy Council in Dubai, where we discussed the advanced progress in the techniques of carbon emissions to produce clean fuel, such as green hydrogen and green ammonia.”

His Highness added: «These developments are an essential element in supporting industrial operations in Dubai, and it is also consistent with the UAE’s strategy to reach climate neutrality by 2050 … We affirm our continuous commitment to the pioneer of sustainable solutions in the energy sector and enhancing organizational frameworks, to ensure Dubai continues to lead a march Sustainable urban development at the global level.

During the meeting, the Council reviewed the progress made in carbon emissions detention techniques, and the capabilities of their use in the production of clean fuel, such as “green hydrogen” and “green ammonia”, to support the operation of industrial facilities in Dubai.

The members of the technical and economic feasibility of these technologies also discussed in line with the UAE’s strategy to reach climate neutrality by 2050, and the Dubai Strategy for Carbon Emissions 2030 “.

The council also discussed the organizational framework for the performance of operators of regions cooling services in Dubai, with the aim of enhancing network efficiency, and keeping pace with sustainable urban expansion in the emirate, and the Council approved a system and guidelines for rehabilitation of government buildings, including improving operating efficiency, rationalizing water and electricity consumption, while obliging all government departments to apply The classification of golden fronds in the design and construction of government buildings starting in 2026.

For his part, the Secretary -General of the Supreme Energy Council in Dubai, Ahmed Butti Al -Muhairbi said: “The Council and its members have implemented an integrated model of programs and projects to keep pace with the rapid development in the fields of energy, buildings and infrastructure, which were defined in the road map, in support of the low -carbon economy.”
