Two people were killed in a one -engine plane crashing shortly after taking off on Saturday night from a small airport east of Atlanta, according to the authorities.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the Rokwell Commander plane crashed near the local Kovington airport around 1140 pm, with two people on board.
“There was no additional communication with the plane after taking off,” the police said in a statement.
The police said that the officers who responded to the accident found the wreckage of the plane and the two victims in the area of Ahrash in the north of the runway in Newton Province, about 35 miles (55 km) east of the center of Atlanta.
The authorities are working to determine the identity of the two victims, while the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Council undertakes the investigation of the circumstances of the accident.
