Change the name of the Gulf of Mexico
Currently, the name appears on Google Maps in different ways, as it is called inside Mexico as “Mexico Bay”, and inside the United States as “The Gulf of America”, while it appears globally with a double name: “The Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”.
In his message, Turner said that Google adopts this designation in accordance with long -term maps policies to ensure neutrality and consistency across all regions, noting that the company is ready to hold a direct meeting with the Mexican government to discuss the issue.
Turner explained in the letter that the company’s fixed policy is based on consulting multiple reliable sources to ensure the provision of an accurate and modern geographical presentation of the world.
