المملكة: “The Place of History” .. a journey through time in the first police station in the Kingdom

25 kilometers northwest of Riyadh, in the village of Jabila in Diriyah Governorate, the first police station is located in the Kingdom, a witness to the first beginnings of the security system in Saudi Arabia. In this historic building, it was not just a security headquarters, but rather a starting point for the march of security and stability in the Kingdom .
Over the decades, this center witnessed prominent events, and was a guard of one of the most important commercial caravans, Hajj and Umrah that passed through Najd to Makkah Al -Mukarramah.
Today, life goes back to this historical landmark through the “Place of History” initiative, which was launched by the Ministry of Interior to revive the heritage sites related to the history of security in the Kingdom, and turn it into destinations that reflect the depth of Saudi heritage.

The path of the old house

From the first moment of entering the site, a journey begins through time, which will start in the traditional Saudi Council, registered in the list of infinite heritage in UNESCO, where the history of the site can be identified through a narrative supported by reliable historical references, before moving to the corridors of the police station.
Rare holdings, such as swords, daggers, and weapons that were used in the past, are exposed, with an explanation of their development over the years, to extend the experience to the “path of craftsmen”.
The traditional crafts that flourished in Jubaila can be seen in the past, then the “Path of the Old House” comes, where the visitor lives a unique experience inside the mud houses that surround the center, to complete the image of the lifestyle in that era.
