The Minister of Sports is witnessing a part of school games and praises the competitive level of students

Dubai, February 24 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Balah Al -Hall Al -Falasi, Minister of Sports, witnessed an aspect of the second edition of the School Games Championship in Football Sports at the Football Association stadium in the Al -Khawaneej area in Dubai, and His Excellency continued the performance of male and female students participating in the championship between school teams from The various emirates of the state.

The tournament is organized by the Emirates Sports Federation for School and University Education Institutions, in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Education and the National Olympic Committee, and a number of sports federations and educational bodies.

Dr. Ahmed Baloul Al -Falasi expressed his happiness at the advanced level witnessed by the tournament in its current version, noting that the tournament represents a strategic platform to discover sports talents and refine their skills from the early age.

His Excellency said that the schools are the first incubator for sports talents and the foundation stone in the process of making the sports champion who is able to win titles and championships and raise the name of the Emirates high in various sports forums.

He added that the School Games Championship is one of the main projects that contribute to achieving the targets of the national strategy for sports 2031, through which we aim to increase the number of Emirati athletes professional in a way that contributes to building a wide base for athletes with competence and high professionalism in the future, and creating a sports environment that suits all students to enhance the publication The culture of exercising in society in new generations, in a way that serves the goals of the “year of society” and is in line with directions The rational leadership towards building a healthy and athletic society is able to achieve achievements.

His Excellency pointed out that the great demand for students in various sports reflects the continuous success of the championship in light of the concerted efforts with partners in the sports and educational sectors.

He said that we are working through this tournament to strengthen the sports movement in the country by building an integrated sports system that contributes to supporting and developing sports talents, and provides them with the appropriate environment for growth and development in parallel with academic and scientific achievement.

The championship witnessed a wide participation of male and female students in 7 sports so far, namely the jujitsu, laser shooting, judo, athletics, flying feather, bow, arrow, and football.

The second stage competitions of the championship will start in the remaining five sports, namely swimming, fencing, taekwondo, table ball, and chess during the coming weeks, and the winners of this stage qualify for the finals that will be held next May.

Football competitions are held in an enthusiastic atmosphere amid the follow -up of officials and coaches, where matches are witnessing high competitive levels between school teams at the state level, in order to enhance the value of this tournament as a basic tributary of the Olympic movement in the country.
