The King of Jordan receives Sharia and confirms his country’s support for Syrian sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity

On Wednesday, the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah II, received Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara, upon his arrival at Marca Airport on a visit to the Kingdom. In the reception, Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the chief adviser to the Jordanian King for Religious and Cultural Affairs, was the personal envoy, and Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Al -Safadi.
Upon his meeting with Ahmed Al -Shara, the Jordanian monarch affirmed that Jordan stands alongside the Syrians in rebuilding their country through a process in which the various components of the people participate, in a manner that guarantees the unity, security and stability of Syria.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the meeting was discussed, which was held at the Basman Al -Zahir Palace in the presence of Prince Al -Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, the opportunities to develop cooperation and reach joint formulas in increasing and sustaining coordination at various levels, in order to achieve common interests and enhance the unity of the Arab class.
The depth of relations and keenness to expand cooperation in the fields of trade, energy and water was emphasized.
During the meeting, the Jordanian monarch praised the outcomes of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference, stressing that it is an important step towards rebuilding Syria in a way that achieves the aspirations of the Syrian people.
He stressed the necessity of close coordination between the two countries in facing various challenges related to border security and limiting the smuggling of weapons and drugs, stressing the importance of Syria’s return to its active role in its Arab environment.
King Abdullah indicated the necessity of creating the appropriate conditions for the voluntary and safe return of Syrian refugees to their country, and condemned the Israeli attacks on Syrian soil, stressing the Kingdom’s support for Syrian sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
In turn, the Syrian President expressed his appreciation for the position of Jordan, led by King Abdullah, supporting the efforts of rebuilding Syria and preserving its unity, security and stability.
The Syrian President is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Al -Shaibani, and a number of officials.
