المملكة: “The Environment” invites investors to publish the results of “applied research”

She emphasized that this initiative, which lasted three years of hard work, represents an essential pillar for developing work in the field of crops with a high economic return, noting that publishing the results of 54 specialized research represents an opportunity to advance the sector.
The Ministry stated that the initiative “Enhancing Agricultural Agricultural Research” aims in essence to serve farmers and investors working in the sectors of palm trees, dates, promising crops and agriculture without soil.
She said that the initiative includes an integrated package of applied research that covers vital areas for the agricultural sector, as it includes “18” research in the field of palm and dates, and 14 research in the field of promising crops, in addition to “22” research in agriculture without soil.
Food security initiatives
These initiatives mainly aim to develop agricultural production, elect the suitable items for climatic and environmental conditions in the Kingdom, and the application of modern agricultural technologies that contribute to raising the quality and safety of the agricultural product, while preserving natural resources and their sustainability for future generations.
The Ministry indicated that the initiative “Enhancing Agricultural Agricultural Research” is not only limited to publishing the results of research, but also exceeds this to provide the necessary support and motivation for researchers, farmers and investors.
A step for agricultural prosperity
The initiative aims to open new horizons for progress and prosperity in the agricultural sector, by encouraging more applied research on a large scale, and the introduction and experience of new agricultural crops capable of achieving high economic feasibility, in line with the targets of Saudi Vision 2030.
The objectives of the initiative go beyond the applied aspect of research, to include clear policies for agricultural research centers and their business governance, defining priority research fields and extreme importance, in addition to developing and qualifying human cadres working in research centers, and updating and developing existing agricultural laboratories.
The initiative also seeks to enhance the active partnership with research centers and specialized universities, with the aim of upgrading the level of professionalism in agricultural research work.
The ministry concluded that the desired results of the “Promoting Agricultural Agricultural Research” initiative are embodied in achieving tangible improvement in agricultural productivity and sustainability, and encouraging the adoption of innovations and modern technologies in various agricultural practices.
The initiative contributes to enhancing the ability of the agricultural sector to meet the increasing demand for food, developing the economy in rural societies, and providing new and sustainable job opportunities.
The Ministry stressed the importance of documenting cooperation and coordination between all concerned and effective parties in the agricultural sector, including farmers, investors and researchers, with the aim of identifying actual needs on the ground, and directing research efforts towards finding innovative scientific solutions to the challenges facing the sector.
