Abu Dhabi Customs: 53% growth rate in customs clearance transactions before arrival during 2024

Abu Dhabi, February 28/ WAM/ The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs revealed the high customs clearance procedure transactions before arrival during the year 2024 by 72%, recording a growth of 53% compared to the year 2023, which recorded 47% of the total customs clearance procedures in various customs outlets at the level of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The percentage of clearance transactions before arriving at the states outside the country reached 85% of the total number of exit data, compared to 67% during the year 2023, while the shipments involved 60% of the total number of entry data compared to 31% in 2023.
The rise in clearance transactions before arrival in the year 2024 is due to the sustainability of development and improvement in the work procedures adopted by the Abu Dhabi Customs, especially by enhancing digital customs processes and raising the efficiency of their capabilities and integrated technical systems and investment in technological infrastructure by employing advanced artificial intelligence tools, in addition to the various facilities it provides for goods clearance companies and shipping companies, The promotion of electronic linking with registration, prevention and service authorities as well as the signing of the level of service level with the relevant authorities, which reflected positively to accelerate the completion of transactions and reduce clearance time, and shorten time and effort for both workers and dealers.
It is worth noting that the clearance procedure before arrival that can be applied through a group of smart channels such as the Abu Dhabi Governmental Services Platform “Tam” and the Abu Dhabi advanced platform for trade and logistical services “Ask”, is summarized by the “importer/ source” or his representative to present the customs statement, pay customs duties, in addition to fulfilling the requirements of the supervisory authorities (if any), and completing the customs procedures before arrival The goods to the customs center.
