The 19th Sheikh Zayed Book Award announces its short lists

Abu Dhabi, March 3, WAM / The Sheikh Zayed Book Award at the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced its short lists nominated for the branches of “Arts”, “Children’s Literature and Evidence”, “Translation”, “Development and State Building”, “Arts and Critical Studies”, “Arabic Culture in other languages”, and “achieving manuscripts” and the lists included distinguished and varied works from all over the world. The scientific body of the award approved the short lists during a meeting chaired by His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, Secretary -General of the award, and the presence of the members of the commission and they are His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center and Urgen Boz from Germany, Dr. Nadia Al -Sheikh from Lebanon, Mustafa Al -Sulaiman from Jordan, while the authority included new members who are Dr. Khaled Al -Masry from Jordan/ USA and Dr. Egypt, Dr. Munira Al -Ghadeer from Saudi Arabia, and the Turkish translator and academic Dr. Muhammad Hakki voters, in the presence of Abdul Rahman Al -Naqbi, Director of the Literary Awards Department at the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center.
The short list of the Literature Branch included three works: “The Sphinx” by Ahmed Murad from Egypt, issued by Dar Al -Shorouk in 2023, and “The Trails of the City of the City of Al -Tahl” by Saud Al -Sanousi from Kuwait, issued by Kalimat Publishing and Distribution – Moufaf in 2023, and “Hind or the most beautiful woman in the world” by Huda Barakat from Lebanon – France, issued by literature in 2024.

It was decided to block the “young author” and “publishing and cultural techniques” for this year.
The “Sheikh Zayed Book Award” in its 19th session, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, received more than 4 thousand nominations, from 75 countries, including 20 Arab countries and 55 foreign countries, including 5 countries participating for the first time, Albania, Bolivia, Colombia, Trinidad, Tobago, Mali, and Homa confirms the leadership of the award and its global position.
The “Sheikh Zayed Book Award” is an independent scientific award, which supports the global cultural scene, the movement of publishing and translation around the world, and honors creators, intellectuals and publishers for their literary productions and their efforts in the fields of writing, authorship, research and translation, and highlighting different cultures, which contribute to extending bridges of communication between different civilizations.
