The launch of the first version of the Ramadan “Made in the Emirates” market

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology launched the “Made in the Emirates” market initiative, to enhance consumers’ demand for Emirati products and provide them at competitive prices, in cooperation with the Emirates Balanced Development Council, the National Fund for Social Responsibility “Jar”, and the Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group in the Emirates, with the wide participation of national workers.
This comes in line with the Ministry’s efforts to enhance awareness of the “Make in the Emirates” initiative, and in support of “The Year of Society 2025”.
The first edition of the market started yesterday, in the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to offer a variety of national Ramadan products, making it a unique platform to support local factories and consumers alike, and will continue during the first two weeks of the holy month of Ramadan.
The “Making in the Emirates” market aims to enhance the competitiveness of Emirati products, increase consumer confidence in them, support national factories through direct promotion of locally manufactured products, encourage local consumption by increasing awareness of the quality of Emirati products, and providing competitive prices through offers and discounts on wholesale purchases, as well as stimulating the growth of the food industry sector and enhancing its contribution to the national economy.
Enhancing the attendance of Emirati brands
The market provides opportunities for the participating manufacturers by increasing sales and expansion in the local market and enhancing the presence of Emirati brands through dedicated display areas, while consumers can benefit from exclusive discounts and buy fresh products directly from manufacturers, which enhances the support of national products and contributes to the growth of the Emirati industrial sector.
The ministry called on the public to visit the “Made in the Emirates” market and benefit from exclusive offers during the holy month, as the market is an exceptional opportunity to support the national industrial sector and enhance awareness of the quality of Emirati products.
Omar Al -Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, stressed that the launch of the Ramadan “Make” market reflects the Ministry’s commitment to support national industries and enhance their access to consumers.
He added that through this initiative, the ministry provides an interactive platform that allows local manufacturers a direct opportunity to communicate with the public, which enhances the confidence of consumers in the UAE product and supports the process of sustainable industrial growth, and the market also reflects the Ministry’s efforts within the ‘Year of Society 2025’ to encourage local consumption and promote manufactured products in the country at competitive prices.
For his part, Khalfan Ahmed Misfer, head of the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed his happiness for the Chamber’s contribution to this important initiative that highlights the role of the local industry in strengthening the national economy.
He said that the support and promotion of Emirati products through the “Make of the UAE” market, represents a big step towards achieving a diversified and sustainable economy based on innovation and excellence. He added that this market is an important platform to support the local industry and enhance the position of our national products, stressing the importance of increasing consumer awareness of local products, and that the market is an opportunity to enable entrepreneurs and local manufacturers to communicate with members of society, which enhances economic and social sustainability.
For his part, Mohamed Khalifa Bakhit Al -Kaabi, Secretary -General of the Emirates Council for Balancing Development, said that the participation of the Council in the market reflects its commitment to enabling local communities and enhancing sustainable economic growth, through supporting manufacturers and entrepreneurs, as it works to provide investment and development opportunities that enhance societal stability, in line with its vision in achieving balanced development and improving the quality of life in various regions of the country.
Empowering local manufacturers and producers
For her part, Sarah Shaw, Director General of the National Fund for Social Responsibility – Magr, said that “Hungarian” is keen to harness the social responsibility to support the national economy and empower local manufacturers and producers, pointing out that the “Make of the” Ramadan ‘market represents a practical model to enhance sustainable consumption of national products and link the private sector to society, in a way that contributes to achieving a sustainable economic and social impact.
The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology called on national companies wishing to join the initiative and participate to provide exclusive prices and discounts during the market planning period, as well as inviting manufacturers to participate in the fourth edition of “Made in the Emirates”, which will be the largest and most comprehensive and the gathering of manufacturers, investors and innovators, scheduled to be held at the Emnik Abu Dhabi Center, from 19 to 22 May 2025.
