Dubai receives 1.94 million international tourists during January 2025, a growth of 9%

The Dubai Economy and Tourism Department revealed the latest statistics for the performance of the tourism sector and the number of international visitors, which showed Dubai’s success in attracting 1.94 million international tourists during January 2025, compared to 1.77 million tourists in the same period last year, and with a growth rate of 9%.
According to data issued by the department, “Emirates Today” obtained a copy of it, Western Europe ranked first in terms of the source of visitors to Dubai, based on the geographical region, valued at 19% of the total number of visitors during January, recording about 369 thousand international visitors, followed by the Gulf Cooperation Council states with about 18%, recording about 341 thousand visitors.
Russia, the Association of Independent Countries and Eastern Europe ranked third with about 15%, at a rate of 285 thousand international tourists, while South Asia acquired about 14% of the total number of international tourists to Dubai during January 2025, recording more than 271 thousand international tourists, and a rate of 12% for the Middle East and North Africa region at a rate of 236 thousand tourists, while the countries of North and South acquired East Asia has a share of 10% of the total, recording about 187,000 international tourists.
The total number of international tourists from the Americas reached more than 135 thousand international tourists, which acquired 7% of the total number, compared to a share of 5% for Africa, at a rate of about 76 thousand visitors, while the “Australia” region acquired a percentage of about 2% and at a rate of 41 thousand international tourists.
In addition, the number of hotel rooms in Dubai at the end of January 2025 reached more than 153.6 thousand hotel rooms within 831 hotel facilities, compared to 150.4 thousand hotel rooms within 823 facilities at the end of January 2024.
The average hotel occupancy in all facilities operating in Dubai recorded 84.3% during January 2025, compared to 83.2% in the same period in 2024.
The luxury hotel rooms of the category of “five -star” accounted for 35% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai, recording about 54 thousand hotel rooms within 168 hotel facilities, followed by the “four -star” hotel rooms with 28%, recording about 43.5 thousand hotel rooms within 197 facilities.
For its part, the categorical hotels between “three stars” and “Najma” acquired about 20% of the total size of the hotel market with a capacity of 29.8 thousand hotel rooms within 279 hotel facilities.
As for the hotel apartments, they recorded more than 26.1 thousand rooms within 187 facilities, taking over 17% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai.
The livelihood period was recorded at the end of last January 3.76 hotel nights, compared to 3.8 nights in the same period in 2024, while the number of nights (reserved rooms) reached more than 4 million nights of overnight, compared to about 3.84 million nights of overnight in the corresponding period, with a growth rate of about 4%.
The daily price of the hotel room reached 683 dirhams during January 2025 compared to 643 dirhams, with a growth of 6%, in the average revenue from the available rooms to 576 dirhams in January 2025 compared to 535 dirhams in the same period last year and 8%growth.
