"Muslim sages" Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, a lighthouse of moderation and tolerance over 1085 years
Abu Dhabi, March 7 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elders congratulated the Honorable Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar, Al -Azhar scholars, its students, graduates, and loved ones around the world on the occasion of the anniversary of the 1085 -year -old, Hijri, on the establishment of the Al -Azhar Mosque, the beacon of science and knowledge in the Islamic world.
His Excellency Counselor Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary -General of the Council of Muslim Elders, stressed that Al -Azhar, throughout its long history, was a symbol of moderation, tolerance and moderation, a fortress of Sharia, a preservation of the Arabic language, and a great religious declaration that has a special place in the hearts of Muslims all over the world.
He also praised the prominent and pioneering role played by Al -Azhar in preparing generations of scholars and preachers who are able to spread the enlightened moderate Islamic thought.
The appreciation of the efforts of His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, in the development and advancement of Al -Azhar, to restore its position, leadership and global role in defending the nation’s constants and issues, seeking to unite its ranks and reunification, and combating extremist thought, correcting false concepts, and spreading and promoting the values of dialogue, tolerance, coexistence and peace.
