"Sharjah Human Services" Launching a campaign "Your zakat to teach us" To support students with determination

Sharjah, on March 10 / WAM / Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services announced the launch of the “Zakatak for Our Education” campaign during the blessed month of Ramadan, with the aim of collecting 11 million and 796 thousand and 764 dirhams to cover the tuition fees for 492 students with disabilities, who make up 80% of the city’s students, and most of them are completely or partially exempt from tuition fees for their difficult economic conditions.

His Excellency Mona Abdel Karim Al -Yafii, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, said that the campaign is based on a fatwa issued by the permanent committee of the fatwa in the Emirate of Sharjah, which allows to collect zakat for the benefit of persons with disabilities, and confirms their right to receive support as “poor and needy”.

Al -Yafii affirmed the city’s commitment to pay the zakat funds in accordance with the legal banks through a specialized committee under the direction of His Excellency Sheikha Jamila bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, the city’s president, who studies the economic situation of each family, and is responsible for paying the Zakat funds in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia with full transparency and credibility.

Al -Yafii thanked the Sharjah Government, the city’s partners, the sponsors and supporters of the Zakat holders, including the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, Nazo Foundation for Building Materials Trading, Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, Ramal International Advertising Company, Site Global, calling for the benefactors In the campaign via bank transfers, text messages, or calling the city to make their donations.
