"Emirati publishers" The attendance of the Emirati publishing sector in "London Book"

London, March 12/ WAM/ The UAE Publishers Association strengthens its mobility globally, through its active participation at the London Book Fair, which is one of the most prominent global platforms to negotiate rights and sell and distribute content in its various forms.

The association’s delegation this year includes seven Emirati publishers, including two publishers of the Sharjah Publishing Fund graduates, “Ashbar”, in a move that reflects the association’s commitment to support the local publishing sector and enhance its presence in international markets.

Participation comes within the framework of the association’s efforts to enable the Emirati publisher and enhance the position of the UAE as a prosperous regional and international center for the book and publishing industry, as the exhibition provides a special opportunity to hold new partnerships between Emirati and international publishers in the field of exchange of publishing and translation rights, as well as exploring the latest trends in the global publishing sector.

The role participating in the exhibition includes a “Key group”, which started its career in 2007 by focusing on children’s literature before expanding five specialized publishing signs covering various age groups and literary types, and the “New Thought” specialized in providing training bags books and human capital development resources.

The Sidra Publishing and Distribution House, which is concerned with translating international books into Arabic in multiple fields such as literature, philosophy and arts with the aim of enhancing Arab cultural content, and the “Culture of Publishing and Distribution” house, which has been seeking since its inception in 2008 to enrich the Arab cultural scene through qualitative publications that meet various interests, along with the “Augarit Publishing House” specializing in early childhood education by providing advanced educational programs that enhance Critical thinking and creativity skills.

The association’s pavilion in the exhibition is also witnessing the participation of the two winners in the launch track of the “Publishing” initiative of Shatha Nasser from the “Cyrus Publishing”, which devotes its efforts to translating international literary classics into Arabic, and Maryam Thani Al -Falasi from the “Gim Publishing” house that seeks to lead the literature translated from Asian languages ​​and enrich Arabic literature with various and inspiring stories.

Rashid Al -Kous, Executive Director of the Emirati Publishers Association, said that the Emirati attendance in international forums such as the London Book Fair reflects the extent of the development witnessed by the publishing sector in the UAE, stressing the importance of building international relations with publishers from different parts of the world, as it opens new horizons for cooperation in order to contribute to enhancing opportunities to exchange knowledge and culture between peoples.

He pointed to the association’s keenness to highlight the Emirati creativity in making the book and supporting translation and cultural exchange initiatives, which contributes to enhancing cultural dialogue between civilizations, pointing out that the empowerment of young publishers, especially graduates of the “Ashre” fund, reflects the association’s commitment to sponsor new talents and create a sustainable environment that supports the prosperity of publishing locally and globally.

The participation of the Emirati Publishers Association in the London Book Fair reflects its continuous commitment to supporting local publishers and opening new horizons, which contributes to enabling them to benefit from global opportunities in a way that contributes to the development of the publishing sector and enhancing its presence in international markets.
